Sometimes I warm up to cars, and sometimes that initial misgiving stays. It was like that for the GT4, it never made its way into my heart, I always felt like I preferred a more street-friendly S or GTS.

I loved my 997.2 (even non-S was quite torquey with 3.6), should not have swapped to the 987.2 in hindsight back in 2012. Oh well... When I shopped amongst the 997/981/991 in spring 2016, I found the 997 a bit rough/not as smooth, but I only got to drive one and it was not a choice example. I could see going back to one.

Not to pour salt in the wound, but I loved your 997.2 as well. I remember when you posted it for sale. It was a beautiful example. Do you have any remaining photos that you could post?

Not great pics (before I had a decent smartphone)... I did not like the beige interior and in those days manual 997.2's were easy to find. Who knew they would become unobtanium? I had bought it with 4k miles!!!

Midnight Blue Metallc? I am generally not a huge fan of beige interiors myself, but the black carpet certainly makes it more tolerable.

Just 4k miles, nice!


Edit: I just noticed the paint-to-match center console. That is like a gold mine these days. Rare as not many individuals optioned that.

Pretty sure I had the same interior in my 997.1 but had the black exterior and had 6k miles when I bought it … I think I only added 4k miles when I traded it in for the 991 I ordered a year and a half later.

I have never driven a 991.1 or even a .2, but quite a few 997.2 owners (current & former) whom have also owned a 991.1 have stated that they are very similar with exception to the 991’s Gen 1 EPS.

The 997.1 to 997.2 was so much more than just an engine and minor exterior/interior, cosmetic update. The suspension received an update as well. The MY 2009 997.2 product guide is over 150 pages pertaining to the various updates that the .2 received. It was much more significant than most people knew, myself included… although I did know that the suspension had received an update.

This guy is currently on his 4th or 5th new Cirrus. He has ordered/spec’ed each one and then takes factory delivery.



I just received an email pertaining to this recently listed manual 997.2 C2S with 24k miles. Asking $86k. As previously discussed this the new norm for a manual 997.2 C2S with low miles.
