Soon to be driving a 996TT. As many have written about, it is increasingly difficult to find the 'old' e36m3 era feel in the chassis and in the steering wheel. and maybe it's even wrong to aspire to attain that. the e46m3 will probably be the last visceral M3. the e92 is a LUXURY car with a Motorsport engine. it can be awesome. even epic soemtimes. and the F80 M3 takes it everything to 11. know what the E92 and F80 are missing? everything that goes with the engines.

I've never really seriously considered the Turbo partly because of cost but also just because the extra power seems pretty superfluous in my driving. |

I remember when I test drove a EVO VIII expecting to buy one and was shocked how rough it road and the steering was overly sensitive to me. I thought I was hardcore back then |

GT3 look 997S for JST? Grey interior but maybe stone grey is a bit darker?

I have this idea that when it's finally time in a few years to shed the 1M, I'll get a 991 Carrera S (or GTS).
I haven't even bench raced them, let alone driven a 991.2, so I don't know if these are valid concerns, but there are three things I worry about not liking as much on the 991 as on my 1M: - Down low torque. I like grunt. 1M doesn't have V8 grunt or anything, but it's got plenty of sack off the line. I suspect the new turbo engines in the 991.2 fulfill this need, but don't know for sure. - Steering feel. I know a 991 won't have the great hydraulic feel of the 1M, but the 1M also has a really quick ratio, which I LOVE. Some people like a little less jerkiness, but I really really like the quick response. I don't know what the rack ratios are comparatively. - The feel of the true mechanical LSD. Almost everyone seems to say the newer trick e-diffs are the bees knees, but I don't know. I know I love the feel of both rears really digging in with the 1M. I could have researched this in probably 5 minutes, but decided to write this post instead.

I thought stone might be a dark grey and it is aero kit not a GT3 transplant but I get it. Does have 2 rear seats that I thought might be required for you.

Plus the prices are dumb. I should have bought a 997 GT3 back in 2011, but...whatever. For now, it's hard to justify replacing the Boxster with anything. I've had it since 2010 and it still has less than 50K miles on it. |
