BMW is offering a manual in the base 4-cylinder z4 so there is supposedly hope for that in the Supra.

But if you want a slow car why not buy a BRZ or Miata?

yep not disagreeing but a manual option. Guess you could chip the 4-cylinder to make it more acceptable, hey just like the g70

Come on now we know the B58 powered 2 series is still available with the manual so the set up exists. It’s not out of the question. If they can engineer a stick into the 4 pot Z4 and then presumably a 4 pot Supra and a manual IS available that works with the B58 then there is always hope.

Maybe. But I really don't see the reason for it--and would you really want a slow Supra?

Given they still have the 86, it’s hard to see how they’d justify that. With a 4 cyl, the only thing that would really differentiate the Supra is a nicer interior.
