I just can't believe that it took ~20 years and 3 generations to go from a ~4,000lb E39 to a ~4,350lb F90, and one gen to jump 1,000lb and they are only adding 100hp.

Somebody posted this (hp) lbs/hp

G90 M5 (718) 7.48
F90 M5C (617) 7.08
F10 M5 (553) 7.35
E60 M5 (500) 7.96
E39 M5 (400) 9.88

Of course! By the time we get one, we get the fat pig.

There will be the standard obsequious comments about how it feels lighter than it is.

The M2 comments and M3 xDrive comments all fall along this line of motoring journalist logic.

My advice? Donít buy one new. Wait for depreciation since it always nails BMWs. And then get it if it appeals to you. At this price level (M5) I donít know how youíre not looking sideways at the RS6 avant or the Panamera or the E63 wagon.

Itís so nice. Liberating, actually.

I am looking forward to your buying that manual Z4, so I can live vicariously through you.

For sure. Saw an RS6 in the parking lot at my gym the other day and drooled over it. Just love the way they look. Unfortunately, they seem to hold their value better than M5s for some reason. E63 will sound the best, and i'm sure the Panamera drives the best out of all of them.
