Yeah, I think the adrenalin shields you from feeling everything right away...

Glad you're OK. That's the kind of accident that has the potential to end badly.

Man that sucks on so many levels. Glad it wasn't worse for everyone involved. Good luck w/ insurance and all the PITA stuff ahead.

Definitely. And delayed pain and soreness in general.

ZBB you're likely to be very sore in the morning.

I don't fully understand what happened. She pulled out to pass, right into oncoming traffic?

Sorry to hear - glad you are ok! That really sucks. Good idea to not make an immediate decision about whether you’re injured.

Thanks all…

Yes -- she pulled out to pass the Yukon with a horse trailer she was following. 2-lane road. No passing / double line zone. In the fog. Right into oncoming traffic. 35 MPH limit section I saw her headlights and heard screeching tires just before she hit me

There were 3-4 cars ahead of me -- and I have no idea how she missed them. I hit my brakes thinking she was going to hit one of the cars ahead of me, and I'd need to avoid hitting another car. I put on the report that I was going 30 in the 35 (I checked my logs -- 32 was my speed)

The Yukon braked hard, and she clipped the front of the Yukon as the got back in her lane, then went off the road to the right. Looks like she over corrected, went over the line again and hit me. I was going perhaps 10 when she hit me.

The skid marks on the road show where she was in the opposing lane (ie my lane…). you could also see where the rear of the 3 was pushed sideways off the road. But I was nearly at a stop, so I moved forward a little bit, pulled over and came to a stop in someone's driveway entrance.

If I hadn't braked, I may have made it through. But then again, it may have been a head on then.

Don't second guess yourself on this. Everyone came through unscathed (or close to it, knock wood).
