I was expecting this to blow up but it looks like it's performance center life will hold it back. We will see today. Well and those god aweful seats.
Kinda like buying a used Shelby GT Mustang from Hertz

The life at the performance center would turn me off. The black on red are a million times better than the black on blue seats. I wouldn't want either of them. I miss my e39 sometimes, but I'm glad I sold it before it got expensive.

I haven't driven one (yet? ever?) but I think I'd go with a new Chevy SS over a gently used E39 M5 (at least at that price). The 13+ years since they rolled off the production line promises a list of repairs and work that might even rival the monthly payments on a smartly financed SS. Meanwhile, the SS is the same basic formula in a modern chassis with modern creature comforts.

Oddly enough, I wouldn't make this same argument over an M3, partially because there is no new equivalent that would be cheap enough, and also because I think I look at Q-ship types of cars a little more pragmatically than coupes.

I saw a GT-H on the street a few weeks ago -- and had the same thought!

You have no idea how true that is.

Lol. Beat me to it.

But with that mileage on an EAG car would be priced past $50.

Awesome car - in a totally over the top way.

Don't know that I'd really want to drive one though - half the charm with driving an 'old' car is that it is, uhhh.... Old and has all the warts and compromises (charms?) that those cars have.
That being said - If I could afford one, I don't think I'd kick it out of my garage should it happen to find its way there.

The car is cool but the writing is abysmal. Does nobody proofread anymore?
