He's got the license plate that self-identifies him as a knuckle-dragging mouth-breather.

For the record, I still like the flag and the historical symbol. It's also a better-looking tag than most in this state. The modern symbolism, though, kind of sucks.

If it weren't for the fact that the powerplant is LS-based, the "427" with the snake would actually be pretty cool.

I've met a number of people who have the tag just because they think it looks cool, and are generally unaware (or don't care) about the tea party attempt at appropriation.

I've also met a couple of people who have it specifically to take it back from the TP.

I was paging through that build and saw this counsel for the E39. I so want this. Is it custom or euro?

Why couldn't they save the ABS? Seems like a big thing to ignore.

Quality around the ear headphones. Over and over.

And Blair has a point. A new Camaro is a dynamically better platform for these noises. OTOH, I'd much rather do a Costco run or take the kids on a trip to grandma's in the E39 wagon. For the daily commute grind, I wouldn't mind switching it up every day or two. So, the answer is clear.

This and a Camaro.

I mean, get an SS. Put on some straight pipes. Done and done.

At the end of the day, this is a neat build and a great project but it's still someone else's work on a 15 year old car. It's going to be rough in places (not least the lack of ABS).

Every one of us should buy an SS while we still can.
