But if the gasoline motors are going away (and they are), these prices are less related to the market mania and more about constrained production before Porsche switches the 718s over to EVs completely.

Agreed ... you know it's going to take a big downward turn and it would drive me crazy to throw away money on a 'want' not a 'need'.

I am in the minority on this, but I don’t see a huge correction in the Porsche car market.

If you did, you probably wouldn't be buying so many of them.

Sacrilege, I know, but I think I might be happy with a Boxster EV.

Me neither, especially the models with two usable seats.

I’m old enough to remember what happened to Porsche sales in 2009, so I have no doubt that if/when the overall market tips into a deep recession, lots of people will lose a lot on these cars.

On the other hand, these are very likely to be the last gas vehicles from mainline manufacturers. And the production constraints mean that the supply is low, so long term I think these are a very solid buy.

Not like “I am going to make money,” but more like “this curve will be downward but gentle.”

Yep… +1 on both points.

Exactly why there were far less 997.2s produced in comparison to the dot ones.

Well, I talked to Sam. They didn't get any cars allocated this round. But he did say that they've been receiving order slots for other cars in between the usual allocation schedule, so he thinks in a few more weeks time he'll have good news.
