Side note, I have lost over twenty pounds and now wishing my car had sport seats or something with better support. Guess a good problem to have
Congrats on the weight loss! You should be able to find seats for sale somewhere. Will 987 seats fit? Maybe you can trade with rumatt

Edit: not implying that rumatt is fat - he was just complaining about the sport seats!

wow, looks like the e46 M3 pricing has turned the corner
Low miles, less-common color combo that isn't ugly, tasteful mods. I'd say this is a little bit pricey but not ridiculous.

I bet this one comes close to the same money.

http://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-bmw-m3-coupe-2/

At $28.5 already and I expect to see the last minute bidding war. E46's might be turning the corner.

Folks not there today. $29 even.

The real question is: Is this a bubble or the start of a trend?

It's batshit either way.

How many unmolested, uncrashed, well maintained examples are there? I imagine more than a few...

Think about it this way...my car, which has 103k on the clock, no mods, a moderate amount of rock chipping on the paint, and a less-desirable color combo, sells for about $14-15k.

Cars like that, which have a bit over half that mileage, much better paint, and either some tasteful mods or factory Competition Package, are selling for about twice.

I'm not willing to spend that kind of money, but there are plenty who are, if it means getting a fresher and more unique example. It's not unreasonable. And while they're not ultra-rare, it's actually quite difficult to find nice E46 M3s if you want a manual coupe.
