We might pick one of these up later in the year now that we need 2 cars, but first need to finish the house and then replace 550. Original plan was 2019 M550 but inventory is drying up so we might change gears and try to hack a leftover 2019 X5 lease deal instead, there are still some 50i models sitting.

Love the new x5. How much do you estimate a leftover x5 50i would lease for? Guessing in the 800s

Yea, it’s not really a sub-1% lease normally since the programs are not as strong as the 3 or 5 sedans. Figure a low-80’s MSRP would be ~900 normally. Hoping for a ~1% deal if I can get a deep discount from someone looking to move a leftover that’s been on the ground a while to offset lack of lease cash, or maybe BMW will throw a little more money on the table in the next month. I’ve seen a few one off examples on leasehackr where it looks like they’ve gone all the way into holdback (12-13% range) so it’s a stretch but not impossible. We drove a 40i a while back and love the tech but it’s a lot of car for the 6 cyl after being used to the power in our 550.

That being said, if we can track down a ‘19 M550 somewhere we might still go in that direction. There just aren’t many left now so I’m guessing inventory in 30-45 days will be limited.

You have to be able to say no to a lot of the add ons that seem interesting but add 10-15k to the price.

That was the 500+hp "X3M Competition."

The X3 M40i that I would be happy with is $66k MSRP, which is still mucho dinero.

What are you thinking the M550 Will lease for ? Last October I was getting prices in the mid $1100 range for a 2 year deal and it was not a fully loaded car either.

If you go for a new 5 series I find it blows away the previous generation, I know I’ve said this before but I really love my 540.

With August programs and ~10% discount on $80k car, figure 36 months around $750 and 24 months around $850. Very dependent on the big discount + incentives of 5250 (3250 lease + 2000 loyalty) - would be much worse without that.

Makes sense. The x5 m50 (and m550) is a rare beast - my guess is that typically only have them in inventory as a result of a cancelled order. But when/if they do my sense is that you can negotiate a good discount.

I really want the x3 40i. My local dealer sent an ad for 9k off sticker on 2019s in inventory. Tempting but that would mean eating 5 remaining payments on my current car which would partially negate the savings.

Wow. I wish I were ready to pull the trigger. Maybe next year. Still struggling with whether I can get by without something more practical than the 2 in my future single (but encumbered) life. Then the question is whether to add something practical and cheaper than the X3 40i, or replace the 2 with the X speced as sporty as I can get it. I still fear I'd really miss the 2...

Wow, I’m paying $956 a month for my 540 with an Msrp around $71k and I pay the taxes and fees upfront ... I thought the price was high but the other dealer I checked with was even higher and the E450 as well as the new A6 was higher.

Maybe leasing prices are coming down.
