So what does she want? Or she is car-neutral? Happy with whatever you choose?

Mostly car neutral, except no SUV. We talked about something like an Outback but it gives me hives. An Accord 6M might work. She loved the old Mini that went to FC so she'd probably be happy with a Clubman.

Accord 6M is interesting to me but guessing we will not like they way it drives, i.e. big and soft. But maybe your wife will like it? still a stick and probably somewhat fun to driver with the 2.0t. Reliable and I think has decent tech, i.e. carplay

If it is an actual manual. I find the flappy paddle transmissions are often categorized as manuals.
Looks like it's a tiptronic. That's too bad:

What I don't get is why dealers seem to consistently make this mistake. Given that demand for actual manuals has never been lower supposedly, you'd think they'd want as much of their inventory tagged as "auto" for a quick sale.

Obviously your decoder is more thorough. I usually page through photos to make sure the cars are really manual. Can't do that with this listing, obviously.

Can't remember if it's been discussed but some form of manual Civic is probably worth a look as well. Probably a bit more fun to drive and they're pretty roomy now. Given that JST nixed the manual Genesis, it's hard to see how he'd prefer and Accord or Civic

Civic is too young-skewing. I can't take the way it looks.

A Cayenne is too big.

Ha- yeah it's not the best looking car. I was somewhat won over when I sat in one that my wife's uncle had just purchased (he's 74!). The materials, seats and ergonomics were better than I expected. I think for the 18 or 19 MY they started blacking out the chrome on the grille which helps somewhat (as does a dark exterior color to hide all the weird flame surfacing). My wife wrinkled her nose when I said "this isn't bad"

What is even funnier, and Jon had nothing to do with it, is that Alfa Romeo sponsored the autocross at Bimmerfest this year. (Jon has nothing to do with Bimmerfest anymore)
