It’s cool that you can simultaneously appreciate the charms of both. Most people seem to be die hard for/against.

What’s not to like?

I assume it is just the photo angle perspective, but the Tesla looks significantly bigger than the m3. How do the back seats and general roominess compare?

It's taller and stubbier and I think narrower, but overall the dimensions are pretty similar. Interior room is about the same; the BMW has more rear legroom but a giant driveshaft tunnel. The trunks are similar, too; the BMW's might be slightly wider, but the Tesla has a much bigger under floor compartment (where the BMW's muffler is) and of course has the frunk.

The fact that they are parked in the street.

But seriously, it's awesome that you get to appreciate these kind of cars. The end of one era and the beginning of another. You can do your own M3 vs Model 3 track shootout!

And yet, some people drop $5k on the M-performance exhaust to make it louder.
The 340i needs some help in the sound department. I don't even need PSE on the porsche but some kind of sound augmentation is needed on the b58 as it is. The n55 had a bit better sound (though the b58 seems improved in every other way it seems).

I'll have to figure out whether to go with a MPPSK or just an MPE or aftermarket. I don't want too loud, I want just enough sound to shift with.

Hopefully all that Toyota R&D makes the B58 a much more reliable engine. I’ve heard some stories that suggest that Toyota significantly reengineered it to make the reliability acceptable for the Supra. One can only hope that that flowed back to the BMW engines.
