Come for the exquisite balance and beautiful rotary engine music, stay for the gutlessness off the line, abysmal mpg, and uncertainty as to whether it will start for the valet.

It's yellow? If it were any other color I'd offer to buy it from you. I really don't like yellow RX-8s. Something about the kinda-ugly body and that particular shade of Mazda yellow don't get along.

I'm not really sure what to do with it ... I've got so many cars right now the last thing I need is another one. I was thinking of having the car painted red and replacing the black interior with the black/red that Mazda used to offer. I also have to check the possibilities of boosting the horsepower ... it is a lot slower than I remember ... or maybe just sell it in a few months

Sounds like a lot of work (and investment) for a car you're still not going to like after. I'd just sell it

I liked the yellow. From shortly after I got mine, I wished I'd gotten a yellow or blue one.

I drove another one a couple years ago at a few autocrosses and, yeah, it was much slower than I remembered despite having a relatively fresh engine rebuild.

Repainting red and interior swapping, though? Seems like a lot of trouble and expense on a car you probably don't really want to keep for long.

Speaking of yellow and Boxsters, this seems like a decently speced base car:

I have some cool thoughts on this car ... I put $4k to $6k into it and make it look cool and make it much faster and maybe get into auto crossing again ... plus it gives me some old school feel.

I need a project ... gotta go get some encouragement ...gonna go watch some fast and furious movies
