Speaking of air cooled kludges, just ordered one of these:

Since the 993 does not have *any* center jack points that make sense, this is the best option. (I view the engine case as a bad place to jack the car up from, even if "everyone" does it.)

I considered a set of these, but they are pretty much 993 exclusive, AND they would require another $200 worth of new jack stands. (All my Escos are flat top, and I will not use ratchet stands.)

That's pretty cool. And it reminds me how badly GM fucked up at placing lift points on the 6th gen Camaro, but I'll stop there and respect the "911ness" of the thread.

I wonder if that's a german car thing. I remember the e46 didn't have any official center jaciking points either- and there was plenty of debate about what was acceptable to use instead.

The E46 absolutely has center jacking points front and rear.

And just because people love to bring up the quickjack system when you talk about any sort of hassle related to jack stands, it doesn't really fit under a 993. (I don't like it because it doesn't get high enough and it badly impedes access to the center of the car.)

Quick? Fast? Why not both?

Perhaps most impressive is the total lack of drama.

Yeah impressive but where the hell in America are you ever going to be able to use all that power. Unless you go to the track on a regular basis isn’t it a waste?

I can barely have fun with my car.
