Anything I should look at on a new '06 DMax/Allison 2500HD?

It's a step above a work truck, but it has everything I need (4WD, extended cab, A/C), and the price (including line-x) starts with a 2.

(And the GM cloth 40/20/40 split bench is REALLY comfy.)

Truck experts: Is there anything I should look for, even though it's new? I've got a written offer that I'm going to take tomorrow unless I see something weird.

I figure 360/650 ought to take care of my towing needs for a while.

Not knowing what package you're getting, I assumed the GMC with the SL 2SA package
The 3.73 LSD (GT4) rear axle is an option (and totally required for trailering IMO)
Maybe the diesel engine covers for cold weather (V10)
I'd stick with the single alternator
Get the towing package (Z82)
Console roof with reading lamps (6C7)
Spare tire and power door locks (SAF & AU3)
Tinted windows (AJ1)
Power windows? Kind of pricey, but .... (5B5)
Outside trailering mirrors... You can get the GM ones (as part of the truck) or do the seperate ones that mount to the doors -aftermarket. Your call.
Sliding rear window - (a28)

Those are my thoughts anyway.....

15,400 on a 5th wheel, 12,000 on a ball hitch.

Interestingly, the 8100 gasser is actually rated to tow a few hundred pounds more. I guess it's a gear/revs thing.

No - Its the OEW of the truck itself with the Duramax.
The diesels are NOT light engines.
