I saw Theo's post, checked the link and was just coming back on here to say:

"If ever there was a car for JST to lose all sense of responsibility and blow his children's college funds, retirement and inheritance on, this would be it"

I hope it works out for you. Remember, the more in debt you are the more Financial Aid you get (I wish I was given that advice before being financially responsible and paying full price for 2 colleges).....

That is fabulous. I want it. I'm sure my mechanic also wants me to get it.

Ha ha--I want a 928 but that 928 is going to go for all the money and I need to save something to buy a car my kid can drive. She's already angling for the M3 ("you're just going to get a new car anyway"), though she wants to wrap it b/c she doesn't like the orange.

How can a teenager not like the orange?! Is it not orange enough?

Get the 928, sell the boxster and turn that into an e46 for your daughter. When it comes time for her to go to college sell the 928 and use the profit you made on it to pay for room and board. Everybody wins.

The idea of a wrap is interesting to me.... Our e46 is a hot mess aesthetically, and if it makes it 2 more years for my son to learn to drive on, he wants it red. Obviously i won't let him paint it, but a wrap might be interesting.

I've also had deluisonal thoughts about wrapping the 911 in Aventurine Green. That is my new favorite car color, and I wonder if
A) you can get a wrap that looks decent and mimics the look of a painted car (professionally done, of course)
and
B) does a wrap act in any way like XPel to protect the original paint from chips.

One thing about old cars you have lusted after but have never driven is that most of them probably don’t live up to the hype after driving newish sports cars. Some do though.

Edit. Is it 4:00 yet so I can get to driving.
