E36 M3 interior question

I have been considering my options for recovering my front seats in the E36.

One thought has been replacing all the Dove leather pieces including the door panels with black pieces from a lesser 328 letherette car. I can probably find and collect the door pieces from various wrecked cars.

My big concern is do the regular 328 seats use the same foam core pattern as the M3 convert/lux seats. I know they look the same. At $1200 a piece, the leather covers are WAY out of reach. The leatherette covers however could be within a decent price range.

Does anyone know if they are the same?

The lux seats are identical to base seats if I recall correctly.

A better solution (IMO, of course) would be to replace them with vaders. I always found them to be more comfortable.

The equ solution would be to sell your car, perseverate on the next one and then miss the car you sold.

Not a bad price either.

Question though. Is the rear seat from the coupe shaped differently then the convert. I think it is.

They would look silly in a convert

Are those covers from the dealer? Have you had an automotive upholstery shop look at them?
