Man that front fender is wide. Not sure how this will look without camo but it creates some weird angles.

Esp the third pic.

I would not be at all surprised if it has boxed fenders.

I would guess that we will see it revealed in another 3-4 months if it does not get leaked before then.

If the M2 doesn’t work out, how about a manual Zupra?

Oh wow. If they do offer it on the 6 how can BMW not also do that for the M240i.

I saw that earlier this AM and had a similar thought.

For the same reason they refused to put a manual transmission in a G29 Z4. “The take rate is not there.”

BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosí Will Be The Production Headquarters Of The New BMW M2.

The second generation of this model will be produced exclusively in Mexico for the world market. The Potosi plant will be the fourth globally to produce M models. The start of production of the new model occurs within the framework of the 50th anniversary of BMW M.

The BMW Group revealed that it will start production of the second generation of the BMW M2 exclusively at its San Luis Potosí Plant for the global market at the end of 2022. The addition of this third model to be produced at the Plant reaffirms both the company's commitment to the state's economic growth, as well as the great Mexican talent it has for manufacturing premium vehicles.

The San Luis Potosí Plant has been manufacturing the iconic BMW 3 Series since 2019 and recently added the BMW 2 Series Coupé, thus becoming a strategic facility for the BMW Group Production Network. The Plant has maintained sustained growth, registering a production increase of close to 25% in 2021, compared to the previous year. By 2022, the plant will hire an additional 800 employees and start a second production shift.

In this regard, Harald Gottsche, President and CEO of BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosí said: “We are very excited to be part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of M, now that our Mexican plant will build M vehicles for the whole world. By producing the second generation of the BMW M2 exclusively for the global market, the high capacity of human talent in San Luis Potosí is once again demonstrated and our commitment to the growth and development of the state is renewed.”

About the BMW M2

The BMW M range takes BMW's excellent dynamic performance even further, with advanced engineering that allows it to combine the capabilities of competition cars with the ease of use in everyday driving. The combination of typical BMW M chassis technology, high-performance powertrain based on motorsport technology, track-proven aerodynamics and cutting-edge design captivates customers and fans alike on the track and on the road. roads around the world.

The BMW M2 is the most compact and best-selling model in the BMW M range. Its second generation will continue the tradition of its successful predecessors, the BMW 1 M Coupé and the first generation BMW M2, as well as meeting the high demands of its most purist fans.

The start of production of this vehicle occurs within the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of BMW M, thus commemorating decades of success. With the arrival of the BMW M2, the San Luis Potosí Plant joins the select group of BMW M production sites, which includes the German production centers in Munich and Dingolfing, and the Spartanburg Plant in the United States.

Very cool!

Some observations:

- Both camoed M2’s seem to be auto. I have seen a short clip of one in the past with a manual.
- The two cars seem to be running different rear bumper treatments. See attached.
- It was cool to watch the M2 in one clip be planted right on the M4 CS’s butt.
- Also cool to see the one clip of the M2 with the new C63.

Thanks for the post SCA.
