Sure.

I don’t hate turbo engines. I just specifically hate the N55. Although the “leaving it in gear” bit really depends a lot on the engine. If it’s aggressively turboed, the opposite applies.

side track, I find it interesting that my 20 year old turbo turbo is less turboy/laggy then my new GTI turbo. Figure 20 years of tech should make it the opposite.

GTI is direct injected but maybe it needs a twin-scroll turbo? At least it doesn't drop off as drastically as my 1.8T that was in my audi a4.

(Of course, they then put in two very deep tub-like seats with a tall center console, so they didn't gain much in the way of cabin space, buy hey...)

If I were to spend $60k on a car, I'd buy this one. If I were to spend $100k, I think I'd still buy this one.

With newer cars (especially German for some reason), there seem to be issues with throttle/transmission delay when accelerating from a stop. Not sure why- have seen speculation it has something to do with emissions. I wonder if that's what you're feeling and instead of turbo lag.

Ah, the V8 X5 has this. I thought it was just excessive torque. Very hard to get a smooth, fast launch. The 2 does not suffer from the same problem, thank goodness.

I'm actually far more enticed by the Supra then the C8 (or any Vette). A nice version of the b58 in a little coupe? Yes, please. Sadly autotragic only. Still if I had to have one of the C8 and the Supra, 8-speeds be damned, the Supra would fit the bill (as well as the tiny old garages that we have around here).

The problem with owning the Supra is you'd have to look at it.

It doesn't look bad to me. It's small.

It's still a Toyota, I just can't (and doesn't the BMW version get more power?)
