new snow tires
A drive into the suburbs this morning convinced me that the Hankook Icebears I have on the M3 are shot and should be replaced. I actually liked these tires, particularly since they only cost ~$100 each. I'm not even sure if you can still get them, but regardless I'd love to hear any recommendations.

I bought a set last year. They are, I think, still the best cheap performance snow. Not actually sure they are meaningfully better than the Continental DWS, but I'm not prepared to recommend an A/S tire for NE use.

Probably decided that icebear was bad branding.

Yeah, i*cept evo is not better than ice bear.
Instead of a bear paw, do the Evos have a douchey guy wearing a backwards hat on the side? |

I recommend dunlop 3d's. Alpin pa3's & blizzak lm-series are great as well... Or you could go all out with blizzak WS's, really soft but super snow/ice performance. I don't think all-seasons would cut it up in Boston.

The Dunlops are pretty comparable to the DWS in performance. Incredibly disappointing.

I can tell you what tires you probably don't want to run in the winter...the Pilot SS. NOT confidence inspiring in the cold.
