The most impressive thing about the 3 is how it puts so much power down so effectively in all conditions. It’s not the power. It’s the brilliance in the traction control programming.

They don't do 1.3s. They do 1.7s pretty consistently, dipping into the 1.6s at events where they don't measure the 60' beams accurately.
The fastest AWD cars with engines run in the mid 1.5s. |

Yeah, I don’t know what I was confusing it with.

There's nothing particularly special about the Model Y. It's a jacked up Model 3 that is just a little bit worse in every way, but offers a higher seating position / entry and exit.

She hasn't test driven it yet, and she may find it's too small, however. |

In fairness, it also fixes one of my biggest practical gripes about the Model 3, which is that it doesn't have a hatch. The cargo space on the Model 3 is actually pretty generous, but getting odd size items in and out would be a lot easier with a hatch.

Plus, you can get a factory installed hitch (not, cheaply, of course.)

We really like our Y (which we’ve had for just over 2 months). I like it better than my 3.
Size-wise, its just about perfect from our perspective. The extra height makes the back seat feel roomier - it has about the same leg room, but sitting up higher (the set is higher off the floor) if feels bigger. It holds a ton of stuff, and the hatch solves the issues of the small trunk opening on the 3. The interior also feels similar in size to the Model S - just slightly narrower (the S is really wide)...
