He paid $106k plus taxes …. Yeah Josh did GREAT on his purchase right before the pandemic.

Wow. Any idea what dealers are selling new ones for (is it over msrp?) with used prices like that I think I’d just factory order a new car and wait 6 months of however long assuming I could get it at msrp.

I haven't checked in months what the dealers are getting but I would be surprised if they wanted over sticker for the sole reason it would upset the buyers that the dealer would be taking advantage of them.

OTOH the last time I checked allocations were impossible to get with no end in sight.

I see- so even if you wanted to order a regular 911 or 911S, it's impossible to find an allocation...

The last time I asked the dealer said they had people waiting for allocations and that 6 months to get one would be lucky but that was also back in February so maybe things changed.

It's kind of strange to me that dealers seem to manage keep some Taycan stock but no 911s. You'd think the 911 would be the most profitable model and that they'd want to divert some of their limited microchip supply to build more 911s...

VW has other equities here that favor pushing sales of their new, hot EV over a car like the 911.

Probably true...VW likely has some corporate target for EV sales. Dealers also seem to be able to stock Macans... which again, if you have a chip shortage I'd think you'd want to divert from less profitable models. But maybe Macans are actually more profitable than 911s...

I bet Porsche also prefers 911s to be custom orders -- there is a lot of profit in those options...
