Rates are set by state based on actual claims data- unfortunately for you Florida is one of the worst performing auto insurance markets. A lot of claims and higher rate of fraud.

2015 GTI: 775 2015 JGC: 610 2013 BoxS: 725 2011 535i: 650 But I still pay nearly $500/yr for the Ducati Multistrada (vs $250 for same displacement BMW R1200R) and given that I haven't warmed up to it enough, only about 1.2k miles, I might dump that. I'm surprised how "cheap" the JGC insurance is given its KBB trade-in value. |

I don’t devote mental energy to cost of car insurance. It’s just more cost of living friction. Like tolls and gas. Cost of parking in Boston or Manhattan. For each car you listed that’s like four airline tickets. Don’t sweat it.

Well...
I'm not wealthy enough to not sweat car insurance. My last insurer raised me to $4000/yr. Less than an hour of searching and online application got me down to $2750/yr. No phone calls involved. It's could be a tactic by insurers, to slow cook their long term customers to see if they notice. I've ended up ping ponging back between the same two as they compete to get my business but not compete to retain me. I never ever pay for parking in Manhattan. Bike, moto, public transport or uber/lyft. Rare occasions, I street park. I've lived in or extremely close to Manhattan for 20 years. |
