There was a kinda scary looking redneck dude (in a "Deliverance" kinda way) pumping the gas with an equally scary looking prison tat inked up redneck chick in the passenger seat. I tried to walk by casually, but he was watching me before I got close enough, so I just walked up and asked if he would mind if I took a pic of his license plate. He looked at me all surly and mumbled, "Why would you wanna do that?" I told him and he shrugged in a "go ahead" gesture, but was watching me in a way that did not make me feel comfortable. I said, "Thanks," and went back to me car. It was weird.
This guy pulled out to specifically follow a guy in a Nissan GTR. I inferred some degree of "car guy" from that. But who knows.

Notable car sighting thread

Just saw a Panoz Esperante convertible. First one I've ever seen, but didn't get a pic. It drove by while we were finishing breakfast at a patio place we go to.

Edit - the Panoz drove by again. Beautiful sound...

There was also a McLaren convertible there when we arrived.

And a Nissan GTR with a partial flat black wrap that looked ugly (the roof and a strip at the bottom were the original maroon). It also had a tow hook screwed in the front bumper -- why would you leave that hooked in all the time?

I don't get this wrap thing at all. the place where I bought the S4 has a 650i ragtop with a full body wrap. remember, what has been seen, cannot be un-seen . . .click at your own risk

previous owner should be shot

I saw a red C7 enter the Beltway this afternoon. It was a good bit up ahead as it came on, so I was able to watch it for a lone hole as I approached and passed. I was struck by how absolutely unique the rear and rear quarter is from everything on the road while being very true to the new Chevy design language. I was wondering how well it's going to age. I thought it looked like a "what cars will look like in 20 years" exercise from 10years ago. It could be magnificent, or it could be like that 6. I don't know. I'm finding hard to warm up to it even though I like it.

I'm not in love with the C7's ass, but I don't hate it. The rest of it I think is gorgeous.

The 6er was ugly when it came out, and now just looks bloated and dated.

Sometimes,I think it's amazeballs generally and sometimes I think it just looks like ass. But I like it, except for not liking it. It's more clinical than emotional.

I think I'd rather have a base F Type coupe than any C7, but I'd still want the C7.

The C7 is very dramatic. I like the front end a lot. The rear end...well, you can't see it from inside.

Whether it will age well is an open question, but it certainly looks good now.

The F-type really doesn't do that much for me. I like it well enough, but it doesn't trigger any sort of "gotta have it" impulse in my brain.

What's it like to be a fundamentally broken man?
