The reasons he gives in the comments are really true. He’s a 2 car owner living in SF, I think he’s paying $400/mo to rent a garage for the 911, he’s loved it and had fun driving it but he’s good with letting it go.

My bet is he’ll own another 911 at some point, and I’d assume it’ll be a step up from this one.

'nough said. SF is beautiful for lots of things, but car ownership is not one of them!

400 a month might be reasonable there, but it is 400 more than I would want to pay

Very nice. Although, I have to admit the E46 body style is looking a little old to me now. But it aged well for a very long time.

Good luck to your son, Alex! Looks like a great, well-sorted, pretty much perfect 996... An 01 rwd 6-speed like your son's was my first porsche. Always had a soft spot for them.

It's nice, but I cannot get excited about gray cars anymore. I've had too many silver and grey cars recently. At least if they have vents, or black accents, maybe. The plan 911 is too smooth and boring in gray. Frankly, I even felt like my Turbo was a bit boring and that was a great gray on a car with vents, wings, and such.

I'm with FC on this. Ot maybe a beautiful brown interior. Beige or black interior with gray? Acceptable but not exciting.
