So, I stumbled on an insane deal for a set of Ohlins R&Ts for the E90. Cheap enough to spring for a rebuild and still be happy.
I have a little more tweaking to do - they are very sensitive to spring preload and ride height adjustment, which is a bit challenging as I didn’t want to use the Ohlins supplied springs, but they are definitely more like how the car should have shipped.

I used 300F/600R Hypercos. They are moderately lighter than Ohlins ships.
FYI, the F80 kit seems to have something weird going on. Either BMW really screwed with the rear suspension geometry, or Ohlins made weird choices.
