This seems on par with the QC that I have personally witnessed from Zuffenhausen.

Or it could have an adverse effect, plus it has to make it 20+ years.

Ha true. Maybe I'm weird but I kind of like manufacturing mistakes like this where a manufacturer puts the wrong badge, trim piece, etc on. Somehow makes the car a little more special. That being said, I wouldn't be happy with most other manufacturing flaws (misaligned body panels, paint flaws, missing bolts, trim, etc)
