So what's the latest word on car polish/wax?

It's been a while since I cared enough about a car finish to wash/wax it regularly. Back then, I was a diehard Zaino fanatic. Nothing else I tried looked as good or lasted as long. It was, however, a pain to buy and pretty cumbersome to use.

What are people using these days?

Yes. Removing carnauba is a PITA. Everytime i use my Griots Best in show carnauba wax I am pissed at the amount of effort. My picky eyes don't spot a worthwhile improvement.

Synthetic waxes are super easy to remove. I decided to use some old gold class meguire's wax (that was bought on the 190E days) on the MCS and it was a breeze buff off. Looks pretty good too.

If you were buffing, it was too much work. Wipe on, wipe off.

I apply it with the random orbital and try to wipe off by hand, but always end up having to buff the carnauba off by hand.

The synthetic gold class stuff was indeed a wipe off.

I like Zaino.

Put it on the M3 a bunch of years ago, and have not touched it again since. Water still beads nicely.

Yes, a pain, but one weekend (in bits and pieces over the weekend) and you are done for a long time.
