E30 and old 911 interiors aren't much to write home about.

ARGH. The fucking oil pump won’t prime.

OK...

Circling back to this....

I bought a cheap used oil pump that was available locally in the hope that it would solve my issue. I was *trying* to get it done while my parents were here after Alex arrived. Sadly, that oil pump also failed to deliver pressure.

I broke down and ordered a new one. It never came. (Thanks supply chain. Yes, I'm getting a refund.)

Luckily, I found *one* oil pump in stock at a vendor that had not marked it up to today's price. So for a mere $540, I have a new pump. And said new pump will build oil pressure on the starter quite easily.

So fingers crossed that the engine didn't get damaged by this whole episode....

Well, so far so good.

Oil pressure gauge really saved my ass here.

That's great news.

This seems like a perfect candidate for regular oil analysis...

Probably. Will be doing a couple of very short cycle oil changes on it first before that.

Just make sure you buy our oil BEFORE starting the changes.

Yeah... I've got plenty of the cheap Castrol I'm using for the initial break in. And then it'll be Millers Nanodrive.
