I'm still annoyed I didn't find out that car was available until it was too late.

...that said, I'm pulling the S50 out of the E30 M3 this winter. I'm going to keep the motor, but I'll have almost all of the swap parts available (harness, cooling, oil pan). The harness requires one extra wire for that 318 to power ABS (I'd do it - it's a chassis wiring delta that happened mid MY1989). I also have an AC hose crimping tool so we can make the AC line that you'll need cheap. (Might actually have that already.)

Please don't tell me you're putting an S14 back into it.

There was also a 4th red on tan that was donated to John Doby’s FrankenE30 IIRC.

While there were many mistakes made in somehow going from 4 to 0, giving one to Nick and Jenn was not one of them. (Giving is the wrong word I think money was involved)

I thought about it, but too much money. The S14 will continue to stay safely in the basement.

I'm going S54. I've had it for ages, just haven't got around to assembling it.

I mean, you insisted on $500. I think I still owe you dinner. Pretty close to giving it away.

Eh, more than I want to spend at this point, with shipping and everything.

Oh well!

Unfortunately, the real problem is that you probably don't want to buy an E30 cabrio and park it outside. That's probably not going to go that well.

I don't understand why you wouldn't go S54? All the electrical issues are easily solved and you'd enjoy building the chassis harness. And the cost delta isn't that much either.

Edit: I only did the S50 because I wanted the car on the road because it was time, and I had the engine sitting around. It was probably around a $500 swap, which I'll recoup when I sell the bits.
