Track day outside Tucson

I was invited by Porsche of Tucson to a track day at Inde Motorsports Ranch this Saturday. Its a private track outside Tucson (so about 220 miles from my house...).

Looking forward to it. Will post more later.

Here's some info on the track:

Is this the new Boxster intro tour (I'm guessing not, since I think that's still on the east coast), or in your own car? First time on a track?

Its a bring/drive your own car thing. There's a chance that the new Boxster will be there though -- the intro tour is in AZ next week (and Scottsdale next Fri).

This will be my 2nd time on a track, but the first in my own car. Last time I was on a track was at Nissan's test facility in AZ, driving a pre-producting Infinity QX56 on their road coarse with Motoman...

I suspect you will have more fun in your car than you did in the Infiniti. I don't know how intense it will be, but my word of warning is that you may find it highly addictive.

The Infiniti almost doesn't count -- I only got 2 laps as a driver on their road coarse (but I was mostly a passenger that day -- 20+ laps on that course and about 5-6 laps on the high speed oval)...

I'm just glad this place is a 4 hour drive away. Should help mitigate the addiction risk...

HA!

I mean, yes.

Yes.

Just like the high price of cocaine keeps most people from becoming addicted.

I will say I've *only* driven four hours to a track a few times. Like, three. In the past year.

I'll do my best to not inquire about their prices. If I don't know how affordable it may be, then my cheap side can believe I can't afford it...

I might have an opportunity to go back out to the Nissan place with Motoman in the next couple months. I'll keep up on the free ones...
