I'm amazed at how far people people push it with bad and bald tires. Part of me thinks they haven't even the slightest idea of what the condition of the their tires are. It's incredibly dangerous. There is a minivan on my street with basically slicks for tires. no tread left at all. The woman has 3 kids all in cars seats in that minivan every single day.

I had a corded tire on the Z4 when I got to Las Vegas. I only knew about it b/c they put it on the flat bed to take to the car carrier and it was easy to see when the car was elevated. It was on the inside of the rear left tire. Considering how I was driving it the couple of days before saying good bye to my mountain roads, I sort of feel lucky to be alive. Or at least with the car in one piece. But some of the drop offs would have been extreme.
