I can't imagine why it wouldn't be!

The E9x was the crossover point. The E46 would never let you do anything fun. The E9x will.

I directly traded in my five-year main vehicle 987.1 on a 997.2 in 2011. I traded that 997 for a 987.2 in 2012, again directly. Drive one in; drive the other out. Not to mention, multiple test drives of both platforms (cayman R, 997.2S, etc) around that time. The pedal action of the 987 and 997 are noticeably different. Period.

Whether it matters or one cares about it is subjective. That the pedal acts differently is not. I can't be sure whether it was pads, fluid, lines or master cylinder, though I remember reading that it was the cylinder. Regardless, that's hypothetical. How the brakes felt was very real. Is it a criterion to buy / not buy? Not for me, but since we are going back and forth over this petty point, I don't see why I should concede.

I think the question people were trying to figure out was if the brake feel difference was model specific, or sample specific.

There's huge difference between updated consumables and altered brake hardware, though. I believe that your two cars felt different, but there are a lot of factors that go into that.

My two 987s' brakes did not feel majorly different from each other. All 997's I've driven (including a few .1's I drove in 2009 and the 997.2 that I owned 2011-12) felt quite different from those.

That is a nice color. The wheels look good on it too. Very sharp.
