I have spent time in dct and auto e82s and not liked them nearly as much (not liked them at all) . I can live with an auto on any sedan/suv type car, but I'd rather have a manual that degrades the performance on a fun car over any other option
As I’ve said previously, a lot of my hatred of the N55/6spd comes from how and where I drive it. Out in the suburbs, I don’t notice it really at all (aside from the awful top end fall off). But driving in the city, it’s geared all wrong and falls in and out of boost constantly. A bigger turbo would fix that. I don’t really want a ton of torque at 1500rpms.

These driving conditions were what killed SMGII for me as well.
