Run flats are back on

I took off the nrf snows/wheel combo and put back on the Bridgestone summer run flats.

I have to say they don't feel nearly as bad as I'd remembered them. I'd only driven on them briefly last November during a really cold spell, perhaps the cold temps were to blame?

It's in the 60's now and they feel just fine except for a bit of tramlining and a fair amount of road noise.

I've done one autox on them - some of the guys say they're slower for that purpose, but I'm not interested in laying out over a grand for replacement tires at this point, so.....

my main gripe about runflats has been/is that they're darn heavy and they make the suspension work really hard to keep the tires onto the pavement. and they are a fair bit harsher over lousy Boston roads.

i've never been in a situation on the public roads where i wanted more grip. i also saw their deficit on a closed track. and since i've not the time to do that much these days, it's a purely theoretical gripe for me.
