The dealer was down on the idea of submitting this as a warranty claim from the beginning, and was pessimistic about it in every interaction I had with them, so I don't really think the dealer was the source of pressure on VW. But who knows?

Whatever happened, the outcome was good and I appreciate it.

Yes. I'd say that there's a very high likelihood I'll sell the car anyway. I don't trust it and don't want to deal with this again, especially since the '17s only had a 3 year warranty.

Well, with the known defect, I figure it’s worth about half of KBB. What say you?

Hm. Haven't gotten that far. It looks like similar cars are asking 31,700-35 on cars.com. That higher number seems nuts, but 30K seems fair?

Only 16K miles! Plus a brand new clutch.

Clutch should last a lot longer out where JV lives. Maybe even 20k miles.
