I really don't care for those wheels.

in case anyone wants a $112k boxster
Why would you buy that, when you can buy this for 10k less brand new:

Theoretically, in Porsche's hierarchy, GT4 & Spyder > GTS.

I'd rather have the GTS as I'm not interested in tracking or PS Cup tires and all the other bits that are a hassle on the road.

Pasting from 4.0 GTS thread...

I think I'm going to ask about this car:

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

It's a lot of miles to buy a car like that sight-unseen. There could be clutch, brake, other work to be done even assuming it runs and works perfectly.

That 2009 has promise, but jeez they did not spare the Armor-all, did they? Why do people think that makes a car look better?

It has the sports seats, which are awesome and sort of hard to find, and I love those wheels.

Downsides are high miles, unknown history, and some minor things like the top elastic needing to be fixed and the fact that it has Hankooks (which, to me, suggests an owner or dealer that was looking to cut corners).

But yeah, a car like that would give you 75 percent of the satisfaction of a new one at like 1/3 the price.
Agreed. Those are concerns. I wouldn't sweat these things too much if I could see it in person. A great, low-mile version of this car would ask over $30k, so that is a steep discount. The remote thing is troublesome.

And yes, I hate the slathering of armorall. My Miata was like that when I bought it. Cheapo tires could be a dealer thing, but certainly not great.

If that car was being sold by an individual and not a dealer and you had the service history I can see considering it but at those miles and being it’s not a Porsche dealer or owner selling it I think you should keep your options open and see what else is out there.

I have certain red flags that go off when looking at a used car and this one is setting off a few of those ... the inventory of that dealer isn’t giving me too much confidence, their website on their home page has the credit application, financing and loan calculator as some of their main buttons ... I just think finding an older boxster you can find a seller who you feel comfortable with.

Worth paying for a Carfax and an Autocheck. Might be a good deal at that price even with needs, but it's also possible that it's been hit.
