Nope, that never happened with the .2 cars. In fact, I wrote in these very pages, that FC, in one of his ruminations, should just get the 997.2 or barring that, a 987.2S as prices were unlikely to decrease.

Agreed… I was waiting for the dot twos to get in the 30s, never happened and it certainly will never happen now.

Here is an example of what $42,500 gets an individual these days in regards to a 997.2. A base C2 with 106,500 miles and PDK. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/b...20210908445763

As soon as Porsche announces hybrid 911s (which is soon), I actually think this market will not cool down. I think there is an irrational desire to lock in on the ICE examples. Even though we know the 911 e-hybrid will perform better.

It this article is accurate it sounds like they won’t be plugin hybrids. More of a “mild hybrid” setup to boost performance and torque fill. Knowing Porsche they’ll do it in a way so as to minimize weight gain. Plus I wouldn’t be surprised if they reserve that for the turbo models (to increase the already insane performance). To me turbo engines are actually better when paired with a mild hybrid system.

I think you’re right.

It will go Turbo first.

But it will bleed into the S model pretty quickly too I bet.

My dealer also correctly predicted Porsche would be pumping out 992s as much as they can. I think you might see more of them sit at dealers for more than a day.

Another $60k+ base 997.2 They could have at least cleaned it up before taking the photos. BTW, It is a manual.

CPO 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera (997 II) 63,223 mi, @ $63,431.

Edit: There is also a YouTube video of it after being cleaned up. Cosmetically it is far from perfect. https://youtu.be/fgGuNWdQZBE

This is the new baseline, right?

20% markup from where we were 2 years ago?

Pretty much…

Edit: Give or take for mileage and condition like any other vehicle.
