I haven't driven one (yet? ever?) but I think I'd go with a new Chevy SS over a gently used E39 M5 (at least at that price). The 13+ years since they rolled off the production line promises a list of repairs and work that might even rival the monthly payments on a smartly financed SS. Meanwhile, the SS is the same basic formula in a modern chassis with modern creature comforts.
Oddly enough, I wouldn't make this same argument over an M3, partially because there is no new equivalent that would be cheap enough, and also because I think I look at Q-ship types of cars a little more pragmatically than coupes. |

I saw a GT-H on the street a few weeks ago -- and had the same thought!

Lol. Beat me to it.
But with that mileage on an EAG car would be priced past $50.

Awesome car - in a totally over the top way.
Don't know that I'd really want to drive one though - half the charm with driving an 'old' car is that it is, uhhh.... Old and has all the warts and compromises (charms?) that those cars have. That being said - If I could afford one, I don't think I'd kick it out of my garage should it happen to find its way there.

The car is cool but the writing is abysmal. Does nobody proofread anymore?
