Speaking of values....

BaT 1971 E9

Wow - The E9 forum is really not sure what to make of this car selling for $151k...
While it is a very nice looking car, several items are not right. I did not see most of these details (but the eagle eyes on the forum did). Still - it is a VERY nice looking car.

Wonder what my car will be worth when it is finally completed...
The above car is a carb'd 3.0L M30 with 4 speed.
Makes me think my car (with a nicer color - IMO anyway ) with a 5-speed and 3.5L M90 (with CSi / Megaquirt to boot) will do....

My car is getting closer - but... not quite there yet.
The final items are taking a while to sort out.

That's crazy! Best of luck to you. We'll need lots of photos when it's done.

Wow! Well, it is a gorgeous model. The only problem with your restoration is it may be too precious to drive by the time you're done!

Absolutely - I have a few pics of specific things (mostly for documentation purposes). Nothing really showing the car as a whole...

Definitely will have pics and info when I get it.

That thought has crossed my mind. The good thing now (in that regard) is that I don't live off a 3/8 mile gravel road. But - the whole thing about how valuable the E9's have become is a double edged sword. I love that it is worth a fair bit of money, but... I want to be able to enjoy driving it, not fret about everything when I take it out.

That will probably diminish over time. I was a nervous Nellie when I first took the Mustang out after its restoration. Now, 14 years later... I am a not so nervous Nellie. Much more easy minded about things (although if you ask Patty - I am a bit over the top on caring about it...lol)

Either way - It will be great to have them both home and side by side.
Stay tuned - should be (i hope... I REALLY hope) by the end of the year.

I've always kind of like the 318is coupe (think it was only out for a few model years?). I remember TD saying he used to have one..

The M42 is really kind of an unpleasant engine. Doesn't sound great, doesn't feel good, doesn't make good power.
