Assumption is that it's a better dog vehicle than their current fleet (aside from the truck?), but they seem to be making it work pretty well.

I can see the reluctance to drive this thing, but I know that it was driven frequently and didn’t seem to be any less reliable than the cars on which it was sourced. I agree, if you’re not going to really use it, your money might be better spent on a real M5. |

Imola M5s are not common.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-bmw-m5-62/ Is weird that they replaced the nav unit with the stock piece rather than upgrade to the later unit, though. |

If I was the owner when the NAV was replaced, I never would have stood for the trim fuck up

Good for the seller, I'm happy he built something this awesome and set the internet on fire.
I'm also glad it sold for that much, as I have no ability to regret letting it slip away. So far out of my price range it just becomes another exotic to fantasize about.

Holy crap. Looks like S62 swaps done right can bring the money.
On another Frankenstein car note, not sure why but I totally dig this Audi build. The inline five always sounds fantastic and the lines on the old coupe are so cool. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-audi-coupe/ Looks like VW tried for with the Corrado but failed.
