http://www.northamericanmotoring.com is the big US MINI forum. I spent time there long ago, haven't been there in quite awhile.

Although I have to say that I am disappointed with how little action there is on the classifieds. The MCS is posted there. |

My daughter loves the Countryman and I wanted to research it. The thing that bothers me is it's kind of on the small side but with the awd it seems to sit higher and give a bigger presence plus the crash ratings were all good. |

AF, I had a love-hate relationship with our Countryman that devolved fairly rapidly into a hate-hate relationship, but most of that was down to the clutch feel and the infotainment system. Obviously the first isn't relevant if you're thinking automatic (though I have my own issues with BMW/Mini automatics), and I think they've improved the second. Other than that, it was a tidy, appealing car. Small footprint but a decent amount of room inside, and reasonably good performance. It seems like a very good choice for a teenager. |

The new clubman looks very well done. We spent a bunch of time playing with it at the car show. My wife and kids loved it.

I had two; we sold the coupe to FC when we bought one of the first 2011 Countrymans.
Part of my frustration with the C'man was that dynamically it wasn't as much fun as the coupe, but that obviously won't be an issue if you aren't directly comparing them. |
