Oh I'm sure the level 2 chargers will quickly fill up.

My only hope is that the supercharger is fast enough that they won't be clogged all day, at least for a little while. But I could be wrong. This work won't be completed until next year so by then we'll have 3x the number of Teslas.

They space them so you can park 3 cars per charger. People "stage" then unplug you when you're done and plug in themselves (or others). There's a slack channel where it's all orchestratef. It's a total shit show, but also kind of cool at the same time.

The irony is that most of the folks are actually driving hybrids. They run in and out between meetings every day just to refill their tiny battery for the drive home so they can save gas and save the planet. I can't believe they jump through such hoops while carting a gasoline engine around.

I just want to sneak in on the occasional day that I'm doing back to back city trips after work. I lower myself and go battle for a charger among the range-challenged tree huggers

I don't know how installing private superchargers works, but I was told we just approved the budget for it, so I assume the cost is on us and not Tesla.
That's fantastic news!

That’s cool if the really are private Superchargers... the only other ones are for some taxi companies, with the rumor of a customer putting a Supercharger at his house a few years ago.

It’s also possible that these are DC chargers - likely combo CHAdeMO and CCS units, which unfortunately don’t work on Model 3. Tesla sells a CHAdeMO adapter, but it only currently works on the S and X (I have one that I used on the S, but kept just in case)...

Also, I just took a look at Supercharge.info... noticed that there is a Supercharger under construction in Ossining... the NYC area really has sprouted a ton of SCs.

Ossining is near me but is a pain in the ass to get to. Lots of traffic lights and things. I doubt I'll go there often.

There's also another in Yorktown heights. I might end up there more frequently, if the one at work doesn't pan out. There's are also a bunch coming in NJ across the river from Manhattan. I was really surprised there were so few there last time I looked.

They're popping up everywhere, but then again so are Teslas. I hope they keep up with demand.

My beef with "FSD" is the aggressive/misleading wording... Glorified cruise++ may be completely worth it for 2 or 3 or even $5k, I'd want it on mine as well. But what do they mean by "full self driving"? If they don't mean it, why do they use it aggressive language like in an infomercial? The actuality may be far in the future if at all...

Don't think so. Just Uber

Here's another article on Tesla and self driving cars.

I wonder if laws will get passed at some point and Elon will have to disable or cripple autopilot. Boy would the FSD buyers be pissed then.

Interesting article. It does seem like they’ve painted themselves in a corner with this FSD nonsense. Maybe the best thing for them would be for laws to be passed that make it illegal.

I’m kind of assuming that that’s the threshold for the Autopilot party ending.

That was a good read. It's hard to imagine if laws would be passed one way vs. another.
