Thanks. I'm 90% sure I'm going with an E82/90/92/91 or an 06-14 Civic Si sedan in the next year. It seems like they are mostly good to go with some very pricey maintenance items that pop up.

I've owned two AWD e90's. I never had to do heavy repairs on either, they were pretty new, but I agree they suck. Some suspension components that are alloy in RWD's are stamped steel on the xi's. Not to mention the front axle hack.

Simply a hack design. I wonder if 4matic is similarly hacked or proper ground up. This is why I can't choose xdrive's anymore over audi or subaru systems (even if I prefer many things about the bmw's).
