Saw a really clean HellRot w/ gold basketweave rims original M6 over the weekend. The shark nose 6ers (and similar era BMWs) styling has aged well IMHO.

These seemed to be together this morning. Never seen a green 348 before… The Testarosa is an early one -- note the high mounted drivers-side only mirror…

I was in my 1M this evening waiting at the first light at the end of the NJ Turnpike Extension (I-78) in Jersey City, heading for the Holland Tunnel, when an orange M1 pulled up next to me on the left (they were turning toward Hoboken).
The occupants seemed to be as amused as I was that there was an M1 and a 1M sitting next to each other there... we waved and gave reciprocal thumbs up to each other. The light changed shortly thereafter, so I didn't have time to grab a photo, but it was definitely a moment.

The Mazda CX-3 is at dealerships now. I saw a few on a car-carrier truck by the port then again when I stopped by a Mazda dealer the Tuesday night. I had high hopes and have no doubt that this is the best small CUV in the segment!
The problem for me is that the car/suv/cuv just does not make sense to me now that I've seen it in the flesh. It's a taller and skinnier Mazda3, but it has much less space than a Mazda3. It's definitely better looking than the Honda HR-V, but it's smaller and cheaper-feeling on the interior. I know it will sell very well, but all it did for me was affirm the Mazda3 and CX-5 as way better options. |
