True - even an e90 330 was probably a ~6 second car

If your definition of fast is under 5 seconds to 60 then yes I agree.

I meant relative to other cars. BMWs always had decent but not earth shattering power.

I think more like 6 seconds (which is significantly slower than 5).

To JST's point, the ZHP (a late, and the fastest non-M E46) had to be beaten into submission by C&D to get a published 0-60 of 5.7s. Realistically it probably barely cracked 6 seconds.

Yeah, the ZHP was great fun but it was not fast. The E90 335 was a rocketship in comparison.

The N54 was also the first nail in the coffin for N/A M motors. They had tuned 335’s giving the N/A M3 a run for its money.

We had one of these in...'87, I think? Same color, though it had a white leather interior. It was literally the coolest thing that 14 year old me had ever seen, though I never got to drive it on my own (though I did on my learner's permit).

By the time I got my license in '89 it had been replaced, first with a Probe GT and then with an 89 GT convertible that had an auto. That car was tragic. It was amazing how much slower the AOD Mustangs were.

Will be interesting to see what this one goes for. It's nice, though there seems to be some debate about the paint. But my guess is that a loaded GT doesn't have the same pull as a base LX these days.

EDIT:

A number of years later I had a similar car in Reef Blue Metallic, which was maybe the most perfect 90s color that ever existed.

That would be a cool car to take to Radwood.
Bid to just under 20. Astonishing how much lower this is than the LX the other day.
