Congrats!

Awesome! I think your timing will work out well - GTS 4.0 for MSRP plus your 987 is still worth a lot.

Lol we’ll see on the 987; those haven’t really had the value bubble that lots of other Porsches have had.

Any thoughts on where to list it? I’d like to try BaT, I guess…

You should apply now if you are doing BaT, they take a long time to get the process going. It took me over a month from applying to them to getting the Auction up and running though in the beginning they let you know quickly if they will accept the auction or not.

Might also be worth looking into cars and bids. Maybe you'd even get Demuro to do a review since I dont think he's ever reviewed a Boxster...

Alan (and JoshPA) what kind of pics did you submit with your initial BaT email? I’ve been holding off because I don’t have many good pics of the car, but I should get rolling if I want to do it.

the more the better. The first time I submitted, i just put about 10 pictures in to show the general car and got rejected. I resubmitted with a large quantity of auction quality pictures and got approved. Any videos you make, host then on youtube.

Alans comment about total time from submission to sale being longer than expected is very true. The nice thing is once the auction goes live you're pretty confident you'll have the car gone in 10 days.

If you want any help, feel free to PM me.

I submitted I believe about 10 pictures at the time, once approved I have to add I had a lot of help from JoshPA, he knows his stuff and REALLY helped me both before the auction with the right wording of the ad and pictures as well as during the Auction.

I of course am willing to help as well but I will tell you Josh knows his sh*t.

Well, looks like one of my neighbors a couple of houses down just got what looks like a Cayman 4.0 GTS within past few days. Must have been in his garage and I didn’t notice. He has a crew over there installing a lift (2 car garage and this would be their 3rd car) and the car is parked in my next door neighbors driveway right now. White with some type of gold finish wheels?

Nice. Yes, the gold finish is an option on the wheels. Little too much for me but looks good with the white.
