I don't think we'd lease a 911 though. We barely hit 10-11k miles per year on the X7 so any 2nd vehicle isn't really going to rack up any meaningful mileage. Still focused on used 991.2s but am looking forward to checking out the 992.2 when it comes out.
I mean, it's an option to buy. If you like it at the end of the lease, buy then. As long as your interest rate is comparable, it's not a meaningful difference - basically a different amortization schedule.

Yep.

The counter-argument as a PRO for the GTS is that it is basically the closest to the 911 Turbo you can get also equipped with a manual.

I think both are pretty neat options packages.

I am second guessing the GTS because it’s basically an ECU tuned S —and I don’t know if that is worth the money to me. so you spend $190k on a GTS but you’re still asking yourself why you don’t have the Turbo S or the GT3? Or the GT4 RS? As an enthusiast that is one twisted set of deliberations. But whereas I used to go for the GTS “value proposition” now I’m old, time is short, and I’ll go for the GT3 time and time again.

The T is a wildcard to me. I love what I have. I’m sure the 992 T is even better. Real price is $130-140k. Let’s be honest.

And the real price for a Carrera S is 160-180k.

It’s probably a personal decision at that point and what else you’re driving and how the potential 911 fits into that mix.

Does that mean that msrp is the actual dealer asking price? Or is it just showing msrp because it’s on a Porsche website.

Guessing option B, BUT it is in Mobile, Alabama so who knows. I have noticed more and more new GT3 and GT3 T availability. Buyers flaking?

I’m going to guess that once you engage with the dealer, they will alert you that it’s an additional “fee” to buy the car.

There’s several dealers who do this, of which Porsche LA Downtown and Porsche San Diego are the most….um…notorious.

Porsche San Diego will, for example, list a new car inbound on their site and list the MSRP.

But if you inquire about the car, they will educate you that how it works is whoever bids the highest will get the car.

*meaning bids the highest over dealer ADM.

Just to properly set the reality distortion here.

Your L.A. versus this L.A. (Lower Alabama) is a totally different environment though. There might be a ADM, but I suspect it is not nearly as significant.

Again, our dealer in Knoxville does not add a ADM to any new Porsche, including GT cars and they are the #7 dealer in the country per PCNA.

Given the amount of money at stake with these cars I would think its effectively a national market at this point. (If you could really buy no ADM cars from a dealer in Alabama some broker would quickly figure this out and take advantage).

From some comments they've made on the "spikes car radio" podcast it sounds like Spike Feresten and Jerry Seinfeld are now buying some of their Porsches from a dealer in Florida. So if VIP level customers like that are shopping cross country...it doesnt' seem like there's hope for "common folk" trying to score no ADM deals.

Yeah, I do believe there are always exceptions. And I fully accept this.

There are allocations to be had across the country, and I think a little effort will unearth them.

I’m more old school in that a relationship with my local dealer has proven to help me in many ways we often do not anticipate. In terms of discounting everything and anything because it’s a business relationship (service, parts and PDE priority and value). I agree that you could build that buying abroad and then bringing that AL car back into the CA ecosystem. And maybe I’m overly conflating this to be more important than it is.

I challenge any of us to reach out to the AL dealer to see what the drive off the lot price is. To robg’s point, I think it’s now a national market especially if you’re an out of state vulture.
