You’re probably not far off, I remember trading in my 2008 997.1 with I think around 12k miles for $42k and this was back in 2012 … the car was in perfect condition Black/beige with a manual.

Not a 911, but related: I sold my '08 987.1S with ~45k miles in 2013 for $30k. I bought it in 2010 for $45k with <5k miles (CPO purchase) and was happy with getting $30k (from CarMax, but there were no recent sales over that amount that I could find at the time for similar 987.1S, including other model years)...

38k-Mile 2012 Porsche 911 (997.2) Turbo Coupe 6-Speed https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-911-turbo-13/

Listed yesterday evening and already at $91K. Manual 997.2 GTS have been bringing $120-130k. It will be interesting to see what this turbo brings.

I haven't been watching them that closely, but my sense is that the Turbos don't bring as much of a premium as you might expect.

This puts things into perspective regarding the 997 dot twos. High mileage, manual, base car, black edition https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/4...20210908445763

Edit: added decoded VIN

Turbos come packaged in a somewhat undesirable way. i.e. AWD only, now PDK only, etc. So a lot of what should push up the value is offset by discounts for things that people don't like. And, of course, people are scared of the complexity.

The modern 911 GTS has become the main option to get manual in car with Turbo-levels of power.

I think the 996TT and 997TT has known issues which can be addressed but it’s expensive and not everyone is willing to pay to proactively address key issues that have come up over time.

If I was buying, I’d opt for the simpler but classic 997.1/997.2 with a manual.

Are they more significant than, say, the contemporary IMS issues?

No, but that's part of the reason that the .2 non-Turbos command such a premium, because it feels like they don't have the same issues that afflict the .1s or the Turbos.

That said, I haven't really paid attention to which cars are impacted by bore scoring. Not sure if that hits the .2s, as well?

I have read conflicting reports of bore scoring on dot twos. Allegedly they are mostly unaffected. I suppose anything is possible, especially on a vehicle that is not properly taken care of.

Edit: A quick search pulled this via the PCA: https://www.pca.org/tech/is-bore-sco...not-1576074894
