"Upgrade." When did replacing a car become an upgrade? Has Tesla changed the mentality towards cars from heavy machinery to throw away disposable consumer electronics?

...taking a page from Apple's book.

Although, I don't really think this is anything new. After all, "WiFi in the car is the dream" - at least that's what GM wants me to think.

Meh, consumer electronics in general, particularly in terms of computers where "upgrade" was the word way back before Apple mattered to anyone that didn't like Apple.

Apple just does it better than anyone else.

I'm using it in this case since I may replace a car with the same model, just a newer model year that has newer features -- so its very much an upgrade.

If I was replacing with a different model, I wouldn't use that term...

When I saw that commercial the urge to try to punch that woman through the TV was strong.

I agree, but I'd argue cheap leases did that long ago

I have had this since 2007.

Although after we stopped full time RV'ing, I took the components out of the Volvo and trailer and put them into a backpack to plug into the car/suv when ever we need it. It is only 3G but it works fine

Well, FML may be a bit of an overstatement. Just annoying, because I could save some money and aggravation by renewing for two years. I've never actually had an emissions inspection, so I don't know how mine could expire--unless they're just checking to make sure I haven't installed an engine in the past year.
